Harvard Scrubs Mentions Of Undergrad Services For Women And Minorities From Their Website

The Trump administration has been going out of their way to give Harvard a hard time. They’ve withheld billions in federal funding for research from them, limited Harvard’s ability to attract and retain students from abroad and recently decided that the school hasn’t done enough to fight antisemitism on campus. After accruing some serious leverage from the many attacks on Harvard’s status as a highly prestigious and accredited institution, the Trump administration has invited the school to “negotiate” on conforming their internal policies to state doxa. Very iron fist in an orange glove.

The school has made recent changes to their websites that suggest capitulations to come. CNN has coverage:

Websites for Harvard College centers serving minority and LGBTQ students and women vanished Wednesday, The Harvard Crimson reported, marking the continued unraveling of diversity initiatives at the nation’s most prestigious university as it faces fresh pressure from the Trump administration.

Websites for the Harvard College Women’s Center, the Office for BGLTQ Student Life and the Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations now redirect to a page for an Office of Culture and Community, the student newspaper reported.

We’ve seen several Biglaw firms similarly scrub their websites with varying levels of transparency after getting tapped on their shoulder by the administration. If Harvard kisses the ring hard enough, maybe they’ll get to keep their accreditation status. If not, Columbia will probably appreciate some company.
