— Judge Jed Rakoff of the Southern District of New York, in comments given to the Wall Street Journal, concerning the “haunted” office of District Executive Ed Friedland, which is now showcasing employee-made exhibits featuring characters from scary movies, including Frankenstein; Ghostface from “Scream”; Chucky from “Child’s Play”; Beetlejuice; and Art the Clown from “Terrifier.” Rakoff, who turned the handle on a gumball machine in the “Scream” display, received a spooky prize: a sticker of himself being unmasked as Ghostface. “I don’t know if I’ll ever be as traumatized as I was then,” he said. A panel of SDNY judges and Second Circuit appellate judges will choose a winning exhibit after Halloween is over.
