Ropes & Gray — a firm that brought in $2,992,831,000 gross revenue in 2023, putting it at No. 8 in the Am Law 100 — is reportedly planning to open an office in Paris. C’est chouette! This will be the firm’s first office in continental Europe.
Bloomberg Law has additional details:
Ropes is planning to open a base in the French capital with hires from rival law firms for the office, according to two people with knowledge of the situation. …
White & Case, Latham & Watkins, and Winston & Strawn are among leading US law firms with long-established outposts in the French capital. Although new entrants have been fairly rare, Houston-based Bracewell in July opened a Paris office with an 11-lawyer team from Norton Rose Fulbright.
Bonne chance to Ropes & Gray as it makes its new home in France.
