Crime-Free and Nuisance Property Ordinances (CFNOs) don’t make communities safer—they punish renters for calling 911, force families into eviction without due process, and disproportionately harm communities of color, people with disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence.
A new report from the Community Safety Through Stable Homes Coalition lays out the harms caused by these laws and the urgent need for stronger statewide protections for groups most at risk from the enforcement of CFNOs.
